Business Analyst (non remote)
Position Summary:
The Business Analyst is a member of the product development team with the primary role to discover, document, and validate requirements for software feature development. This position demonstrates an exceptional ability to translate product vision and requirements into detailed specifications and user stories bridging the gap between the business and development teams. The Business Analyst will skillfully apply proven analytical, problem-solving and communication methods to ensure feature delivery satisfies stakeholder requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate stakeholder business requirements
- Collaborate with project sponsors to determine and communicate project vision, impact, success criteria, and metrics
- Translate customer/business requirements into functional requirements through process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts providing clear direction to developers and/or project team members
- Collaborate with stakeholders to scope, estimate, and prioritize requirements
- Write user stories, acceptance criteria, user guides, and process flows
- Collaborate with UI/UX to design and develop wireframes and prototypes
- Partner with project managers, the implementation team and client support team to plan and execute user acceptance testing
- Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas, effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
- Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
- Improve efficiency of requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years outstanding Business Analyst experience in a challenging environment
- Thorough understanding of business analysis fundamentals
- Proven experience organizing and facilitating customer input sessions
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audience
- Effectively interacts with business units at all levels and able to interpret business needs
- Working experience documenting Business Process Flow Diagrams
- Understanding of software development lifecycle including experience delivering technical solutions using Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and analysis skills
- Creative and innovative thinking
- Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management skills
- Self-disciplined and results oriented with the ability to meet critical deadlines
- Adaptable to changing situations and priorities with excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Exhibits ownership and responsibility for team delivery
