Group Facilitator
Foundations Group Miller House is a certified, accredited substance use disorder and addiction treatment center that offers an array of services supported by a team of knowledgeable and experienced staff. We are dedicated to helping individuals find long term and meaningful recovery.
A substance use disorder (SUD) group facilitator enables participative discussions and learning among clients, allowing them to express and present different opinions while maintaining a respectful environment. The primary responsibility of the Group Facilitator is to facilitate educational group counseling for addiction and mental health disorders. You will be working in collaboration with clinicians, case managers, and other staff to coordinate services that will improve the overall health outcome of the clients.
Essential Functions
o Observes and creates environments that allow dialogue and input from all participants and remains neutral throughout the process.
o Expertise in working with group dynamics to clarify meeting contents, objectives and establish ground rules that govern behavior while managing the meeting or activity process.
o Making observations and recognizes when interactions, situations or group dynamics change.
o Promptly intervening to disperse or extinguish disruptive behaviors and resolve conflict.
o Enters all client information, group notes, etc. into the appropriate records within scheduled time frames.
o Advocates and educates on wellness/self-care choices and strategies.
o Knowledge of 12-step treatment models and its application in residential treatment
o Possess strong ethical standards.
o Attend staff meetings and program required trainings as instructed.
o Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
A candidate for this position must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. Lived experience with substance use disorder preferred. For applicants with lived experience with substance use disorder, 1 year of sustained and uninterrupted recovery. Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.

Pay: $23.45 - $28.24 per hour
