We are looking for a dynamic individual who enjoys working in Hospitality to join our team as a night auditor!

SCHEDULE

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
  • 10:45pm-7:15am

SUMMARYThe night auditor is responsible for processing and reporting daily transactions and supervising the hotel overnight. He or she will provide the highest level of personalized service to guests; check-in late arriving guests, inform them of the hotel's facilities and walk them to their room, check-out early departures; ensure that the grounds are neat and orderly at all times; and provide overnight safety and security for the hotel. Night auditors also perform as the hotel's manager-on-duty in the absence of another supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Guest Services

  • The night auditor is the guest's only point of contact between the hours of 11pm and 7am.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and in a professional manner, informing guests of the hotel’s facilities at check-in. Personally escort guests to their room.
  • Handle guest issues, complaints, and requests and proactively resolve in a manner satisfactory to both the guest and the hotel.
  • Make new room reservations, cancellations, or modifications to existing reservations.
  • Record all information related to guest wake-up calls into wake-up call log and complete necessary arrangements to ensure that wake-up calls are made on schedule.
  • Verify and transmit registration cards for arriving guests.
  • Answer guest questions regarding local area facilities and be able to give proper directions to these areas.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in the light of an emergency situation.

Revenue & Financial Reporting

  • Assist in the verification, balancing, and revenue maximization of the hotel’s availability.
  • Reconcile transactions completed during the day. Create and/or print required reports and file or distribute as instructed.
  • Balance room charges, cash, checks, and credit cards if applicable.
  • Prepare folios for departing guests.
  • Practice proper cash handling procedures and be able to file and post all charges to guest folios.

Additional Duties

  • Notify Housekeeping and Maintenance of any reported problems with rooms or grounds.
  • Coordinate security problems with appropriate employees.
  • Have thorough knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and be able to execute them when necessary.
  • Communicate with the incoming shift employees by logging pertinent information in the Communications Log Book. Work together with the team to maintain accurate logs. (Minibar, cash drop, lost and found).
  • Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Department Supervisor.
  • Make routine property walks to ensure grounds look their best at all times. Pick up used pool towels and restock shelves with new ones. Bring used dishes and glasses from outdoor dining areas and poolside to the kitchen.
  • Set out newspapers and make fresh coffee in the early morning.
  • Brings to the attention of the Assistant Manager or Manager any extraordinary items which may require follow-up, including any potential safety hazards.
  • Leaves detailed notes for manager and team members of any guest or building issues
  • Walks property at night to ensure safety, security and cleanliness.
  • Responsible for early morning preparations including breakfast setup, newspaper delivery, etc.
  • Establishes effective channels of communication with superiors, guests and co-workers.
  • Works closely with the Housekeeping Department. Notifies Housekeeping of late check-outs, room moves, early check-ins, and special requests.
  • Works closely with the Kitchen Department and notifies them of any changes or special requests.
  • Is a positive team member helping to promote an excellent work environment and supporting co-workers.
  • Applies common sense to resolve daily challenges.
  • Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
  • Conducts self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and encourages others to do the same.
  • Exhibits a high degree of flexibility at all times as may be necessary to assist with cleaning, food preparation while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
  • Develops knowledge of other Four Sisters Inns and is familiar with the staff, services, hours of operation and works within the five core values of Four Sisters Inns.
  • Ensures health and safety controls are followed at all times and attends the mandatory quarterly safety meetings for the hotel set forth by Four Sisters Inns.
  • Conducts self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and the five core values and encourages others to do the same.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In the absence of the manager, the Night Auditor is responsible for activities at the hotel and may direct housekeepers, kitchen staff, maintenance, and other staff as needed.
  • Must maintain good communications with all staff to encourage positive working relationships.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This may be waived in certain rare circumstances.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and other employees of the organization, purveyors, guests, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with general mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
