Concrete Foreman

Job Summary:

The Concrete Foreman operates directly beneath the Superintendent/Concrete Supervisor. As a Foreman, you will coordinate with the Superintendent/Concrete Supervisor to ensure that the work is progressing according to plan and on schedule. You must be a consistent and dependable asset to your team in your attendance and performance. (You are expected to set the example for your team.) The Foreman role will be supervising, completing the work and leading, directing, and training the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Be proficient with concrete tools; operate all Fox Cities Builders owned equipment and complete all maintenance records on time.
• Be aware of, understand, follow, and hold others to Fox Cities Builders safety culture, particularly the use of hardhats, safety glasses, ear plugs, dust masks, reflective clothing, and assigned harnesses.
• Hours are variable though can change due to outside factors including job scheduling and weather conditions.
• Work with Project Manager/ Superintendent/ Concrete Supervisor to study, interpret, and apply blueprints to projects.
• Responsible to coach, mentor, and train the team you work with (especially new hires).
• Inspect job site/project before leaving to ensure completion, quality, cleanliness, and complete customer satisfaction.
• Determine daily work schedules to ensure the project is completed within the timeline, communicate with other team members/customers if timelines change.
• Attend meetings in order to discuss the direction and development of projects.
• Take pride in your accomplishments and complete your work with quality and integrity
• Ability and willingness to travel when required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Previous supervisory experience in a construction environment.
• Previous experience in concrete forms, rebar, setting and finishing (including layout, footings, retaining walls and flatwork).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to follow all policy and procedures as set forth by Fox Cities Builders and their customers.
• Have own transportation to and from our facility, transportation to job sites from our facility is provided.
• Ability to drive company vehicles with or without trailers.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Required: Have and maintain a valid Driver s License.
• Preferred: CDL A Endorsement Preferred
• Required: General knowledge of the construction industry.
• Preferred 3 years of general concrete laborer experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and move heavy equipment.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs and into equipment as needed.
• Must be physically able to walk on uneven, wet, slippery or grainy surfaces.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures as well as in rain or snow types of conditions.
