Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to oversee a wide range of HR functions while fostering a positive, compliant, and engaging work environment. This is a hands-on role that works closely with leadership and provides guidance and task delegation to an HR Assistant. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and passionate about making a difference in a family-oriented manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full-cycle recruitment process including posting, interviewing, and onboarding
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee relations and conflict resolution
- Oversee benefits administration and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and laws
- Partner with leadership on compensation planning and performance evaluations
- Coordinate training and development opportunities
- Maintain personnel records and manage workers’ compensation
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies
- Collaborate with and delegate tasks to the HR Assistant as appropriate to optimize HR operations
- Serve as a liaison between management and employees to strengthen workplace culture
- Work with local high schools and support youth apprenticeship programs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in HR, preferably in manufacturing or a machine shop environment
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
