The Director of Engineering is responsible for a multi-functional engineering department achieving the mission of customer satisfaction, profitability and growth. As a member of the plant staff, the Engineering Director is expected to provide technical content expertise in planning and overall operational management of the site.
The business includes advanced SMT and test, box build, and logistics capabilities. This requires a seasoned technical professional who can successfully lead our engineering team through the next phase of development.
This position has high visibility with customers and senior management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and provide strategic vision to achieve continuous improvement throughout operations by setting aggressive goals and programs to achieve best in class.
- Technology requirements development and deployment for the sites.
- New product introduction processes from design engineering to manufacturing operations.
- Providing DFX feedback to design engineers and customers for manufacturing cost reductions.
- Manage capital assets to match factory capacity to production demand (optimize asset utilization).
- Measurement and setting of operational standards / drive attainment of these standards.
- Forecast and control of operating budgets for multifunctional department.
- Work across multifunctional departments to develop and win new business and expand customer base.
