Staff Architect:
Working under the close supervision of a project architect or manager, a staff architect provides support for a project team in the completion of a project from schematic design to construction administration. They receive specific and detailed instructions required for the project and perform architectural assignments.
- Uses independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, but functions as a collaborative member of a team
- Independently solves problems and reviews findings with team leader
- Compiles data, performs design computations, and executes all necessary code analysis with guidance from team leader
- Prepares architectural renderings and documentation in coordination with internal and external team members
- Inspects architectural features of projects in field with assistance from team leader
- Receives technical guidance
- Receives supervisory approval on project documentation
- Checks own work for quality control on a regular basis; ensures that work is reviewed by team leader
- Coordinates assigned tasks with team leader according to workplan
- Maintains project files and records (electronic and otherwise) in an organized fashion that is readily identifiable and coordinated with team members
- Possesses diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
