What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Instructional Aide, Middle School position at Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School?
TYPE OF POSITION: Part time, 10-20 hours/week, school year 2024-2025. Compensation provided at an hourly rate to be determined based on qualifications.
The Special Education Instructional Aide reports to and is supervised by the Special Educator and/or Director of Special Education. He/she is primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation of each student’s Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:
- Bachelor or Associate Degree and/or passing score on Paraprofessional Assessment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.
- Ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents, and staff.
- Under the direction of the Special Educator and/or Director of Special Education, accommodate and modify for student learning and support the general education teacher with the implementation of appropriate accommodations in the general education setting.
- Provide assistance with instruction for students with disabilities.
- Supervise students with disabilities during non-instructional activities.
- Supervise students during transitions.
- Assist with data collection.
- Collaborate with general education, special education, and related services staff.
- Perform related duties as may be designated by the Special Educator and/or Director of Special Education.
