Job Title: Custodian Department: FacilitiesReports to: Facilities ManagerHours/Pay type: Full time, hourlySUMMARYWork as general custodian for the school building. Perform general cleaning functions for the facility, grounds, and utilities as directed by the supervisor. Secure building daily.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform all basic cleaning tasks required (sweeping/shoveling snow/emptying trash and recycle bins/mopping, etc) according to the established schedule of frequency, to maintain the school building, grounds and utilities in sanitary status.Respond supportively to requests by faculty and staff to provide assistance for moving equipment or furniture. Set up and take down furniture for special events.Support the mission of the school and the students and staff.
Replace light bulbs as needed.Will be required to lift up to 60lbs as part of job function.Restock facilities daily with misc supplies including but not limited to paper supplies, soap, toilet paper, etc.Flexible hours required on snow days to permit timely shoveling of walkways.Grounds maintenance duties as assigned (fertilize/trim bushes/sweep).Operate a variety of miscellaneous small power equipment (e.g. snowblower, lawn & garden equipment, vacuum, floor cleaning equipment) as required.Work with minimal supervision.Perform other duties related to building and systems maintenance as assigned.SUPERVISORY REPSONSIBILITIES: When assigned, supervise the work of service students who are assisting you with your duties.
