WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Codes, classifies, and catalogs books, publications, films, audio-visual aids, and other library materials based on standard library classification systems.
- Compiles and maintains records relating to circulation, materials, and equipment.
- Conducts library information and orientation sessions for patrons and assist users in performing manual, online, and interactive media reference searches.
- Locates and orders literature available for interlibrary loan in local, regional, and national networks upon patron request.
- Reviews and evaluates materials using book reviews, catalogs, faculty recommendations, and current holdings to recommend acquisition of books, periodicals and audio-visual, interactive media and other materials for inclusion in library collection; verifies and maintains bibliographical data for materials.
- Searches standard reference materials including online sources and the Internet to answer patrons reference questions.
