Frankel is currently looking for an Accounting Associate, that specializes in payroll, to join our Client Accounting Services department.
Who we’re looking for:
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and/or business operations
- Experience with coordinating and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process
- Experience with transactional accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, invoicing, and other transactional functions
- Working knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll software is a plus
- Enjoys client interaction and providing advisory services to implement process improvements
- Familiar with basic accounting concepts
- Experience with all versions of QuickBooks (Desktop and Online)
- High attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Exemplary customer service and communication skills
- Strong technical and software skills
- Desire to build and maintain client relationships
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines

What’s the job?
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing payroll for multiple clients
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll matters
- Handle payroll-related inquiries and issues from clients
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, and other payroll-related problems promptly and accurately
- Preparation and review of payroll, sales & personal property taxes
- Work closely with clients to perform bookkeeping functions
- Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and account reconciliation for clients
- Process account receivables and accounts payable
- Trouble-shooting and creative problem-solving
- Become a trusted resource and advisor to clients, while making process improvement recommendations
