Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Director and the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing a full range of physical therapy services including therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.

The PTA shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashion.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Knowledge of the principles, methods, practices, techniques, equipment and procedures used in physical therapy.
• Knowledge of equipment and the ability to adjust equipment to suite patient’s needs.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and excellent communication skills in guiding patients to assume responsibility for their treatment and development.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Knowledge of computers.
• Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.

Education & Qualifications:

• Required: PTA license, AHA BCLS
• Preferred: Associates Degree from an accredited program.
