Elementary Teacher Assistant

Academic Coach

Teacher Assistants will perform various job functions, including the following:

• Help instill a love of learning in all students
• Be committed to moving the mission of the school forward
• Provide general supervision of students
• Provide tutoring to students
• Assist and support students, mentoring teachers, and engage teachers as needed
• Assist with tracking student progress towards learning goals
• Address student questions
• Manage student behavior
• Provide instruction for students as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The following are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

• Ability to supervise children, with primary concern for their health and safety, during assigned times and programs, such as at lunch, recess, or in the homeroom, both unaccompanied and in conjunction with co-workers.
• Ability to effectively interact and appropriately communicate with K-6 grade students
• Ability to provide effective tutoring to students
• Ability to effectively manage classrooms
• Ability to interact with educational technologies
• Ability to work everyday Monday-Friday during the assigned shift to ensure the safety and welfare of the students

Other Requirements:

• Ability to pass a background check*
• A teaching license is not required, but this position is open to licensed teachers
• One year of college and/or teaching experience
• Evidence of success in prior work environments
• The physical ability to perform the core job functions described above

Estimated Salary:

• Starting at $14.50/hour

Position Type:
