What are the responsibilities and job description for the Installation Technician position at Franklin Electric?
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Installation Technician position is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery and setup of residential softener and/or water treatment systems for Franklin Water Treatment customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
- Follow detailed service instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Meets daily service schedule as assigned.
- Uses available parts to assemble various water treatment equipment or kits according to operating instructions.
- Safely operate the assigned Installation vehicle.
- Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Service Supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and organized Installation vehicle appropriately supplied with the proper tools and parts.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to clearly communicate with customers and colleagues especially related to water softener and water treatment processes.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to understand and resolve basic plumbing problems and repairs
- Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.
- Ability to work alone effectively under stress and in situations dangerous to self or others.
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
- Ability to stay organized and order materials around the warehouse.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving history.
- 1-3 years or more experience working in a plumbing type position (preferred).
