Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible for supervising staff and processes so that orders are pulled/shipped correctly and in a timely fashion. Coordinates all of the assigned facility’s shipping functions on a daily basis. Oversees personnel in the materials department to ensure timely delivery. Maintains and files all necessary records and reports.
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and coordinates activities related to the receiving, packaging, storing, and shipping of products.
Assigns employees to daily tasks.
Pulls and packs orders when necessary.
Runs shipping lists for domestic shipping and international shipping. Issues the orders accordingly, based on customers’ requests, to ensure timely delivery to customers as measured by the missed shipment weekly report.
Selects routings for freight haulers on domestic shipments or based on customers’ requests.
Tracks and maintains records for export documents.
Obtains freight quotes on various shipments, when necessary.
Ensuring storage, delivery, and accuracy of inventory in the shipping and receiving departments.
Research and resolve lost and/or damaged freight.
Communicates with internal customers on shipment details in order to provide timely shipping of sales orders.
Assists in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient department.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Interviewing & hiring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Working with Human Resources on employee issues.

Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in business management or a related field (preferred).
Five to seven years of relevant education or experience in shipping, logistics, or a related area (required).
Basic: Alphanumeric data entry, Microsoft Office suite.

While performing the functions of this job, the employee must be able to:
Continually stand or walk and to talk or hear.
Continually wear all necessary safety equipment.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
