What are the responsibilities and job description for the 8th Grade Science Teacher position at Frayser Community Schools?
The Science Teacher will work with teachers and students in accordance with the particular curriculum. They will prepare and deliver lectures, help students with the scheduling of labs and labs for students, help with data interpretation and lab write-ups, and other duties as assigned. The Science Teacher will also communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of their child's progress.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment that facilitates learning.
- Use a variety of instructional methods to teach science concepts., including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and guided student investigations.
- Prepare students for state science tests, including curriculum alignment and test preparation.
- Engage students in scientific discussions and inquiry-based activities.
- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 years teaching experience in urban schools (Preferred)
- Valid Tennessee teacher’s license with an appropriate endorsement in the grade/subject taught
