**This position can be performed currently from a remote location in the U.S. but will require presence in a Freddie Mac office in the future.**
Our Impact:
Our team is responsible for working directly with business divisions and across Enterprise Risk Management to:
- Provide oversight of business area specific risk identification, assessment, measurement, and monitoring
- Develop and/or implement elements of the risk framework and risk methodologies
- Provide effective oversight and credible challenge to reinforce and mature the risk framework at Freddie Mac
Your Impact:
In this role, you will be an integral part of:
- Supporting the identification, measurement, assessment and monitoring of risks by:
- Collaborating with risk key specialists to evaluate risk assessments
- Driving implementation and advancement of the risk framework
- Serving as a liaison to various divisions to support Enterprise Risk Framework objectives and projects
- Monitoring and evaluating business division risk management activities including risk and controls assessment, issue remediation, self-testing programs, assessment of new initiatives, and operational risk events
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relatable risk management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of risk and corporate governance practices, and the functions of a three lines of defense risk management structure
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and influence at all levels of the enterprise
- Ability to interact both verbally and in writing with senior executives
- Ability to think strategically (short and long-term), evaluate options and make informed decisions
- Knowledge and experience with risk management, including risk framework/methodology development, risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting
- Ability to handle several priorities and work within tight timeframes, shifting direction as needed
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced degree in Finance, Risk Management, or Accounting (Preferred)
- Professional Certification e.g. CPA, CRM, CRMP, etc. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of risk and control standards e.g. COSO, COBIT, etc. (Preferred)
- Financial services / Mortgage industry experience (Preferred)
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations related to risk management (Preferred)
