General Summary:
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, assists with patient care performing skills in
accordance with established policies and procedures. Functions under the supervision of a
registered nurse. Supports and participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
Current certification in BCLS. (please attach picture proof to the application)
CNA Certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing as required by Health Occupations Article Title 8-6A-01 preferred (please attach picture proof to the application)
Completion of skill competency checklists.
Completion of departmental competencies within one year of hire.
Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing appropriate care/contact for patients in the following age groups:
MUST HAVE at least 1 years experience as a CNA.
Emergency Department or related experience is preferred.
Must be available for 1 week hospital orientation Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p. Orientation within the unit - to be discussed with the manager during interview.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status. Possess the ability to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care/contact needed as described in the Unit’s/Department’s policies and procedures.
