Assistant Director of Operations
Free Country is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Operations to support and help execute our operational strategy during a period of continued growth. This is a full-time, on-site role based in our New York City headquarters, working closely with the SVP/Director of Operations and cross-functional partners.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in apparel operations, supply chain, and logistics, with hands-on experience managing day-to-day execution while contributing to process improvement and system optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the SVP/Director of Operations in managing daily operational functions including supply chain, logistics, warehousing, and 3PL relationships.
- Help implement and maintain process and system enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, cost control, and customer service levels.
- Execute operational plans across wholesale and e-commerce channels, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
- Partner with manufacturers, suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of production, distribution, and fulfillment.
- Support evaluation and optimization of back-end operations
- Assist in standardizing processes and documentation to support scalability and consistency across the organization.
- Help manage and coordinate 3PLs and operational vendors to ensure service levels and cost targets are met.
· Manage monthly inventory reconciliations ensuring accuracy and researching root cause of variances
· Document and standardize SOPs across supply chain and fulfillment operations
· Collaborate with production and sales teams to scale operations with demand and growth plans
· Track operational performance against budgets and forecasts, analyze variances and recommend corrective actions
· Implement and manage KPIs to measure, monitor, and improve performance across internal teams and external partners (vendors, factories, and 3PLs)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain, preferably within apparel or consumer goods.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international transportation modes.
- Experience with ERP systems, inventory management software
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to coach, support, and develop others.
Salary
$125,000 - $135,000
