Freedom Behavioral of Ville Platte, a DPU of Mercy Regional Hospital, specializes in the treatment of geriatric, acute psychiatric care. We have immediate openings for PRN CNAs/MHTs.
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) role is to function as a member of the nursing staff to facilitate quality patient care. The CNA supports the licensed nursing staff to ensure the needs of the patients are met by performing routinely assigned tasks and carrying out patient care activities within the scope of the CNA's training and experience. Provides direct patient care to assigned patients ensuring that the patients activities of daily living are met. They are primarily responsible for the day to day custodial care of the patients.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: High School Education strongly preferred. Certification as a Nurse Assistant from an approved program preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of formal education.
Experience: Desired previous experience working as a CNA or MHT in a geriatric position preferred. Experience with geriatric psychiatric strongly preferred.
