What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Age Assistant Teacher position at Freedom Early Learning Center?
Freedom Early Learning Center is a nonprofit Christian based early childhood center in the Jenison/Hudsonville area. Here at FELC, it is our mission to provide children with opportunities for Christ-centered spiritual, cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development in a nurturing environment.
Before and After School and Summer Care Teaching Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Assist other teachers with breakfast and afternoon snack
- Help plan and prepare a safe classroom environment
- Supervise children in classroom and on playground at all times, which may include lifting children and equipment
- Help children with homework after school.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude
- Daily communication with parents
- Follow the curriculum and complete child assessments
- Attend and chaperone field trips
School Age Teacher Requirements:
- Looking for someone who is positive, caring, loving, and patient
- High School Diploma
- Must work well with others
- Able to lift children of varying ages and equipment of varying sizes
- Early childhood experience is preferred
- Able to work from between 6 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday.
- Full-time hours in the summer for our summer program and during breaks and holidays throughout the school year.
