Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring timely and efficient movement of freight. As a Dispatcher, you will be the central point of contact for drivers and clients, facilitating smooth operations within our shipping and receiving processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming and outgoing freight shipments, ensuring accuracy in documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Utilize phone systems to communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding shipment status and logistics.
- Analyze transportation plans to optimize routes and delivery schedules, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency.
- Perform data entry tasks related to shipment tracking and logistics management using AS400 or similar systems.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments to ensure timely loading and unloading of freight.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to transportation planning.
Experience
- Proven experience in a dispatcher role or similar position within the logistics or transportation industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of freight operations, shipping/receiving processes, and logistics management.
- Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in data entry tasks with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
- Familiarity with AS400 systems or other relevant software is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
