Food Safety Role & Responsibility:

The incumbent is specifically responsible for ensuring that:

· Training requirements are defined for all positions related to food safety and quality within his/her area of responsibility.

· Direct reports are trained to complete work assignments, evaluated for effectiveness and documented, and deemed competent to perform their jobs. When gaps are identified immediate corrective action must be taken. This includes retraining, coaching, and/or disciplinary actions - which must be documented.

· Work assignments are communicated to associates.

· Where the assistance of external experts is required for the development, implementation, operation or assessment of food safety within his/her area of responsibility, records of agreement or contracts defining the responsibility and authority of the external experts are maintained, as well as records of appropriate education, training, skills and experience.

· New hire orientation is conducted, and a training matrix is developed for each area of responsibility.

· All elements listed in PROC 7.2 are enforced- not only those outlined above.

The incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens.

The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.

Yard Jockey Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

· This individual is responsible for safely moving equipment around the facility. Monitors trailer temperatures and performs routine yard checks throughout their shift.

· Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Summary:

The primary function of this position is to move equipment around the facility while monitoring temperatures.

Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:

· Operate yard truck to move equipment around facility.

· Pre-cool trailers according to the guidelines set forth in the Domestic Transportation Manual.

· Perform periodic yard checks to ensure loads are maintained at proper temperatures at all times.

· Maintain a good driving record and comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations.

· Report any vehicle problems and defects to the Supervisor for immediate attention.

· Fills out all necessary paperwork to perform job duties.(Trailer Inspection Report)

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Excellent driving record

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Must pass drug test and background check.
Prefer over the road experience
Driving experience within the city

Experience:

Three (3) years of experience

Education/Training:

Will train in Yard View system and monthly alchemy.
