Boys JV Tennis Coach--Seasonal Position

Season/School Year: Spring 2025; March-June

Supervisor: Director of Athletics and Physical Education

FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

Summary

Friends Academy Athletic Department is looking to hire a qualified Tennis Coach for our boys JV Tennis Team. At Friends Academy, athletics are at the core of a balanced educational experience and hold equal footing with academics and the arts in the overall development of our future global citizens. We are searching for someone with excellent communication skills who thrives in a vibrant educational environment, embraces change, and has a deep interest in our Quaker mission and educational philosophy.

Our League: Our girl's tennis athletes compete with great success in Section VIII. Though we are one of the smallest schools in the league – and the only independent school – we've fielded championship teams in girls' tennis. In addition to Tennis, we currently have 20 Varsity Sports and 10 middle school sports offered.

We are looking for bright, energetic, and creative candidates who are current with best practices within secondary school athletics, with a focus on 21st-century learning skills. An undergraduate degree is required. Successful secondary school Tennis coaching experience is desired, including experience with athletic administration. A successful candidate must have strong organizational, time management, and technology skills. We are looking for someone who is student-centered and excited to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and the community.

Education and/or Experience:

Coaching experience is preferred.

Bachelors Degree Required

Background screening required (fingerprinting)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Guide the personal development of each student-athlete on the roster.
  • Organize, communicate, and execute daily practice plans.
  • Communicate weekly schedules to parents.
  • Support athletes in the college recruiting process.
  • Meet with the AD at the beginning and end of every season.
  • Prepare and condition athletes.
  • Lead game day equipment preparations and set up.
  • Coordinate with Athletics to create social media content.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: Compensation is based on one season of coaching. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful external applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Must be able to move around campus.
