 Substance use Disorder – Next Day Assessment Appointments/Outpatient

Purpose

Provide drug and alcohol assessments to clients from the Washington Recovery Helpline referral program as well as ASAM Level I Outpatient treatment for clients. Utilize brief intervention, motivational interviewing, community connections, life skill education, substance use disorder and mental health screening, connections to education, healthcare, housing and/or job-seeking opportunities, case management services, and assistance with entry into the substance use disorder and/or mental health treatment system. 

Essential Duties: 

a.   core function – drug and alcohol assessments

• Administer drug and alcohol assessments
• Diagnose clients with Substance Use Disorders using the DSM-5 criteria
• Utilize ASAM to determine appropriate level of care recommendation
• Assist clients in engaging in recommended level of care treatment

b.    core function – client outpatient treatment

• Provide ASAM Level I outpatient clinical substance use treatment services to clients including individual, group, and family counseling sessions, case management, screen clients for referral to appropriate services, provide harm reduction supplies and counseling.
• Provide a safe space for clients to check in and build rapport  
• Maintain confidentiality per WAC, King County, COA and 42 CFR/HIPAA requirements
• Provide drug screens for clients as necessary

c.   core function – community outreach and engagement

• Attend community meetings and events
• Develop and provide community and staff presentations
• Develop relationships with community partners (other providers, law enforcement, lawyers, etc.) to network, advocate client needs, provide resources, and facilitate policy change

We require:

·         Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee

·         AA Degree

·         Lived experience of homelessness can be supplemented for work experience and/or education.

·         Experience developing and/or delivering life skills training and curricula preferred.

·         Experience managing projects.

·         Bilingual preferred

·         WA Driver’s license with a safe driving record

·         Proof of COVID vaccination

·         Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check. 

·         Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test. 

·         Must have a valid Washington State driver's license. 

·         Must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
