Primary Purpose
The position of Instructional Facilitator is responsible for providing leadership and support in the implementation of the district’s instructional programs initiatives. This position will enable Instructional Facilitators to work side-by-side with classroom teachers and teacher teams to support classroom instruction. This position will also be responsible for designing and delivering quality professional development on the utilization of effective instructional strategies and bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with teachers and other school leaders.
Essential Functions
- To plan, implement and evaluate professional development for effective instructional strategies, struggling learners, and foundational skill acquisition
- To provide professional development for all stakeholders on best practices, foundational skill acquisition, struggling learners through collaborative team meetings and coaching adult learners
- To support classroom teachers in their implementation of best practices with collaboration, dialogue, model teaching, and feedback within the classroom
- To assist with the development and alignment, both horizontally and vertically, of the district curriculum to state and national standards
- To plan and schedule interim, classroom, and summative common assessments
- To analyze results of formal assessments (state-mandated assessments, NWEA) to determine effectiveness of instruction
- To train and implement district-wide assessments, formative and summative, to guide instruction in the classrooms and ensure that instruction transfers to testing situations
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles
- Knowledge of K-12 school curriculum and concepts in multiple areas, including regular and special education, as well as elementary, middle and high school levels
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, special education, individuals with disabilities, etc.
- Ability to direct the on-going instructional programs for the District, providing for innovative programs and modifications to improve the quality of instruction.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate projects, work and training related to the implementation and supervision of the K-12 instructional programs for the District.
- Ability to apply curriculum frameworks and current state standards for student learning.
- Ability to prepare oral or written communications, such as presentations, reports, memoranda, letters, curriculum documents, etc.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community and others contacted in the course of work.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Experience
- Has demonstrated successful teaching experience
- Has knowledge of what constitutes effective teaching & learning
- Has demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers and administrators
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills
- Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to improve instruction and student learning
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels
- Successful prior teacher leader experience for the appropriate grade levels
- Experience in designing and conducting professional development
Education
Certification/License:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- AR State Certification as an Teacher
- AR State Certification in the appropriate grade level, preferred
- Master’s Degree in related area is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
