Job Description: Teacher
Please consider joining the Friendship House team working in a 3 Star Quality Rated program! Teachers assist with all aspects in the care of the children in the classroom and center. We are looking for a candidate who is dependable, conscientious, willing to be a team player and enjoys working with children and families. The hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Assure that Ga. PreK guidelines and standards are met
- Assist in the development and implementation of the weekly plan of activities
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of an attractive, stimulating classroom environment
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of a warm, friendly class environment
- Maintain friendly relationships with children and parents
- Responsible for proper maintenance and supervision of the center
- Responsible for the health and safety of the children including the responsibility for administering medicine to meet center requirements as directed by the lead teacher
- Report directly to the lead teacher and/or director any problems or concerns about the children of the program
- Participate in workshops an in-service training session each year, as scheduled
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, staff, families, and other center activities
- Assist in maintaining children’s records
- Assist in maintaining visual supervision of children
- Have a working knowledge of daycare rules and regulations
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Have satisfactory criminal records check and drug screen
- Valid Professional Certificate
Preferred Requirements:
- Valid CDA, TCC, or Associates Degree
- Experience in GA PreK Classroom
