We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Defined Contribution Plan Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the defined contribution industry with a strong focus on non-discrimination testing, contribution projections, and plan operations. This role requires an individual with the ability to effectively explain complex testing issues to clients, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
As a Defined Contribution Plan Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of defined contribution plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting clients in understanding and addressing complex plan-related issues. Your ability to pivot from one project to another while maintaining attention to detail and client service excellence will be key to your success in this role.
DELIVER SERVICE
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, explaining complex testing results and plan-related issues in a clear and understandable manner.
- Respond to client, Relationship Manager, and Broker inquiries within 24 hours and deliver on commitments.
- Support clients and CPAs by advising and providing documentation for Form 5500 audits.
- Consult with clients on IRS and DOL audits and assist with answering all questions and providing needed documentation.
- Assist clients with plan corrections including 402(g), 415, late deferral and missed deferral corrections.
ESPRIT DE CORPS
- Provide support to the Relationship and Account Managers and Brokers to assist with providing a better customer experience.
- Provide ideas to the team and leadership on ways we can improve and build our client relationships.
BRING GUSTO
- Review departmental responsibilities and provide feedback on ways to streamline and improve processes.
- Expand expertise and role by seeking ways to help leaders and team members with special projects and daily responsibilities.
BE EXPERTS
- Continue to grow knowledge of ERISA rules and regulations by attending seminars, webcasts, and reading articles and books on the subject.
- Schedule and coordinate training with team members to better understand our products, operational roles, databases, and reporting systems. Share your unique knowledge and experiences with the team.
OWN IT
- Develop strong partnerships with our clients and become the “go-to” for all their needs.
- Thoroughly document all responsibilities to assist with cross-training and supporting new hires.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of ERISA rules and regulations
- Ability to explain complex plan-related issues to clients in a clear and approachable manner.
- Ability to work and communicate across all areas within the organization
- Working knowledge of prevailing wage contributions is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong client services skills
- Successful completion of ASPPA QKA or CPC licenses desired.
- Remote work capability and self-driven work ethic.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Successful completion of ASPPA QKA or CPC license desired
- 5-10 years of experience in the defined contribution industry, particularly in non-discrimination testing, contribution projections, and plan operations.
