This position will be located at Drake House, a 49-bed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) which is just blocks away from Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Drake house Specializes in providing services to seniors with mental health disabilities, we provides healthy aging and wellness in a spectacular setting. Placement within this position includes eligibility to participate in our Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k plans, as well as Paid Time Off and seven paid Holidays. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
Who should apply?
Drake House is looking for a results minded individual to manage their dietary departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal planning and meal preparations for a large board and care or hospital setting. Candidates with previous supervisory experience are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement and monitor food budget. Verify expenses.
Plan and oversee the preparation of three (3) nutritious meals and three (3) snacks per day.
Instruct and demonstrate for staff, when needed. Provide recipes and techniques of new menu items.
Works with Administrator to plan and execute food for Wellness Events, annual picnic, art show, special outings, holidays and Residents' birthdays.
Order food, kitchen supplies and other kitchen-related items. Work with vendors to ensure the best quality and lowest costs possible.
Ensure the kitchen equipment's cleanliness, up-keep and regular maintenance.
Supervises and manage dietary staff.
Mandated to comply with suspected abuse reporting policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
High School diploma or equivalency and a minimum of one year of experience in Food Services.
Knowledge of methods, practices, tools and materials used in a kitchen serving up to 50 residents.
Full range of physical mobility and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to exercise judgment, discretion, sensitivity, confidentiality and patience in dealing with residents and the general public.
