2024-2025 Teacher Assistant

Frontier School of Innovation-Middle is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher Assistant to join our team. The Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers in delivering effective instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment for all students. The role involves assisting with lesson preparation, providing instructional support, supervising students, and managing classroom activities to ensure the success and safety of every learner.

Starting hourly salary is $17.12; commensurate with experience and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for supporting student success.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).

Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
• Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning objectives.
• Provide support during assessments, helping students as needed under teacher guidance.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, and free periods.
• Monitor and address individual student progress, reporting observations to the teacher.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel supported.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, or field trips.
• Collaborate with the teacher and other staff to address student needs and goals.
• Maintain respectful and professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
