Job Summary The Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter is responsible for the service, installation, and maintenance on all types of fire sprinkler equipment and systems. Flexible team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Organized and motivated individual.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Please note the essential functions may vary depending on technical knowledge, certification requirements and willingness to excel.
- Perform service and repairs on various Fire Sprinkler Systems including Wet Pipe, Dry, Fire Pump and Pre-Action.
- Ability to read and understand install drawings and proper sequence for a successful installation.
- Able to rebuild a riser
- Add sprinkler drops
- Work in compliance with the company’s safety policies at all times.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
- Able to identify the correct type and size of piping and related materials for installation.
- Ability to use the correct tools, ladders, and lifts safely.
- Meet all installation deadlines.
- Responsible for accurate hours on time clock, service/installation tickets and inventory items.
- Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program.
- Clean up of work area.
- Field Report on activities and problems.
- Will be cross-trained on Fire Alarm systems, Fire Extinguishers and other various life safety systems as needed.

- Other duties as required or assigned by company management.Requirements/Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience servicing and installing fire sprinkler systems.
- Nicet 1 or CSA preferred.
- Knowledge of Steel Systems (commercial work)
- Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, IFC, IMC, Life Safety 101 Codes.
- Knowledge and ability to use and operate required test equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Must be able to obtain a DPS fingerprint clearance card.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include but not limited to moving equipment and carrying tools weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, using precise and respectful terms when dealing with customers and team members.
- Ability to understand, execute, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
