The Role:
Location: New York City (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Duration: 1-year contract with potential for full-time conversion
We are looking for a data-savvy analyst with 2 to 3 years of experience working with numbers, models, and presentations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with large datasets, and able to translate insights into compelling and professional PowerPoint presentations. This role will support one of our clients in the insurance industry, so prior exposure to insurance or financial services is a plus.
What you’ll do?
- Analyze large data sets to extract insights, identify trends, and support business decision-making
- Develop and maintain financial or operational models to forecast performance and support planning
- Create and present clear, concise, and visually compelling reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, product, and IT) to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular dashboards and summary reports
- Assist in identifying data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements
- Translate business questions into analytical requirements and present findings in an easy-to-understand format for non-technical stakeholders
- Support project teams by providing analytical input, scenario modeling, and performance tracking
- Conduct ad hoc data analysis to support strategic initiatives and business cases
- Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial or client information
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or financial modeling
- Strong proficiency in Excel, data modeling, and working with large data sets
- Solid understanding of analytics, KPIs, and reporting
- Ability to create clear, data-driven presentations using PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills — able to explain complex data in simple terms
- Detail-oriented, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Exposure to insurance, finance, or risk domains is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science
Salary : $48 - $52
