ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a clean work environment. Performs general cleaning duties including clearing and sanitizing tables.
- Attendance: reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
- Fosters good working relationships with guests and employees.
- Wears and maintains all uniforms properly, including nametag. Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.
- Takes customer orders accurately and serves food and beverages in a timely manner.
- Regularly checks up on customers to ensure they are satisfied. If needed, offer refills.
- Performs sidework including stocking condiments and paper products.
- Operates a brewer to prepare coffee for guests.
- Delivers excellent customer service. Makes guests feel welcome and wanting to return.
- Answers questions that guests may have regarding menu options or general information about the Home Cafe.
- Follows established security protocols to ensure that the restaurant work environment is safe.
- Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities, and a general awareness of restaurant operations at all times. Keeps the supervisor informed of any concerns.
- Performs duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, internal policies and procedures, safety standards, and health standards.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated hands-on hospitality, hosting or serving experience, preferably within a gaming environment. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalent. One (1) or more years of recent and related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
REASONING ABILITY: No decision making is required beyond scope of essential duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: No additional skills are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion including frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting trays containing food and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store or move kitchen, restaurant, or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible workweek with additional hours routinely required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties may involve working in a small area with floors that may become slippery in the process of preparing food and beverages. Essential duties include working with large numbers of people while primarily in an inside environment, which are frequently loud and fluctuate between hot or cold temperatures due to running ovens and refrigeration units.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Equipment typical of a commercial kitchen and restaurant, including but not limited to: slicers, mixers, ovens, refrigerators, fryers, knives, spoons, forks, glasses, pitchers, oven mitts and various cleaning supplies and materials.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$11.40 hour based on experience plus tips.
