Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics & the Head Softball Coach, Assistant Softball Coach I will provide support to the Head Softball Coach in overseeing the University's athletic program in accordance to NCAA Division I, Southern Conference & University standards and procedures.
Job Description:
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate all recruiting efforts under the additional title of Recruiting Coordinator'.
- Coordinate all camp and clinic efforts under the additional title of Camp Coordinator'.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coach & manage assigned aspects of competition at an elite level to ensure maximum team success.
- Train, instruct & coach all athletes in practice to achieve maximum individual personal potential.
- Spearhead all competitive & non-competitive season scheduling efforts including, but not limited to, all pre-season home tournament management.
- Scout all opponents, analyze statistical trends & assemble game plans for staff and athletes.
- Identify community outreach opportunities for program participation and community service.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Budgeting & forecasting.
- Maintaining facilities and playing field.
- Fundraising & sponsorships.
- Social Media relevance & growth.
- Liaison, as needed per Head Softball Coach, to Academic Services, Athletic Training, Equipment, Sports Information, Housing, Admissions and other campus departments.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 Years coaching at the collegiate level, preferably the NCAA DI level.
- Previous experience as NCAA DI Recruiting Coordinator & Camp Coordinator.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience playing at the Division I, professional/open/major levels or collegiate/professional baseball.
- Advanced softball specific training or education (NFCA, USA Softball, etc.).
- Extensive & successful fundraising experience.
- Strong history of creating local, regional and national recruiting connections.
