About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and dependable Meat Department Manager to lead daily operations in our meat department. Delco Farmers Market is opening its first location at the Delcroft Shopping Center. The ideal candidate is skilled in meat cutting, inventory control, and team leadership — and is committed to delivering high-quality, fresh products with exceptional service.
Duties
- Oversee meat cutting, trimming, and preparation according to food safety standards
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and shrink control
- Skillfully carve and prepare various types of meat for display and packaging.
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about meat products and offering recommendations.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of meat products and reporting any shortages.
- Follow all company policies regarding food handling and safety procedures.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a grocery meat department or butcher shop
- Familiarity with knife skills and various cutting techniques is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the food industry.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality presentation of meat products.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
- Prior supervisory or management experience
