Production Engineer Manager

General Position Summary

This position is responsible performing overall pre-launch   planning, selection, and installation of equipment, maintenance of equipment   for insuring optimal efficiency, and engineering projects for design change   and major refurbishment/renovation. 

Essential Job Functions

Job   Requirements

· Responsible for overall improvement of productivity, efficiency and quality through the optimal utilization and preventative maintenance of all production equipment of the plant. 

· Complete general benchmarking and monitor daily production process on all plant equipment and jigs. 

· Directs troubleshooting activity of all engineering staff in the programming, equipment, and production related issues as necessary. 

· Designs and develops production equipment and jigs

· Project Manager during implementation of new assignments and coordinates with internal departments to ensure projects are complete within timeframe and budget

· Establishes and manages training program for PE staff

· Establishes and regulates process conditions, including: wire feed speed, amperage, polarity, assist gas, and type of weld rod

· Analyzes blueprints, instructions, or sample parts to confirm dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, workflow of operations, and machine setup requirements are in an acceptable condition 

· Ensure Company and Departmental KPIs are met by working to the overall plan, including management and reporting

· Communicate with vendors as according to the needs of the department as well as completion of projects

· Manage and lead both the Production Engineering and Project Planning Group, including training, development, performance reviews, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximize efficient productivity

· Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review assess ongoing performance of direct reports

· Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each team member is aware

· Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure safety and the wellbeing of staff, visitors, and vendors

Qualifications

Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) Electrical Engineering or related field

· PLC, HMI, understating of Robotic Welding

Work Experience

· Five years of minimum experience required. Japanese automotive industry desired.

· Background in management over large projects

· Background in personnel management

Travel

· May travel occasionally by automotive and or airplane
