The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for handling the day-to-day payroll duties, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time.
- Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies.
- Enter and update payroll data in our system.
- Prepare and issue paychecks or electronic transfers to employees.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to payroll.
- Assist in responding to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and timekeeping.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and update employee files as needed.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting for accounting and auditing purposes.
- Work closely with HR and finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in accounting or business is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar payroll processing role.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations is preferred.
