We are seeking an AI Research Engineer with experience designing and developing data pipelines and models for LLM training, experimentation, and deployment. We seek candidates who possess a keen desire to influence the forefront of ML & AI technology, especially within the scientific domain, to drive meaningful change. This role is based in our San Francisco, CA office.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement large-scale data pipelines to optimize precision recall, dependability, and processing speed.
- Lead training and orchestration of multi-agent LLMs systems, including model fine-tuning and creation of custom embeddings.
- Develop and extend our experimentation platform for internal tools and projects.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of AI researchers, chemists biologists, fostering an environment of innovation and discovery.
Requirements:
- Experience working with data and ML systems: EDA, feature engineering, model development, model deployment, and validation in production systems.
- Familiarity with modeling in PyTorch, Jax or equivalent framework.
- Demonstrated experience with experimentation in academic or industry settings.
- Strong programming expertise with the capability to adapt to various technical challenges in the data, ML, and LLM software stack.
Nice to have:
- PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or other quantitive field
- Experience training embeddings with custom evaluation set and corpus
- Experience utilizing custom agents, and employing techniques such as RAG
- Familiarity with leveraging and managing distributed systems
