FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a fast-growing B2B SaaS startup unlocking profit trapped in global supply chains. Backed by top investors, they’re using domain-specific AI to improve transportation spend visibility and streamline complex logistics workflows.

They’re scaling engineering in San Francisco from 10 to 20 and are hiring a Director of Engineering to lead this next phase of growth. You'll report directly to the CTO and work closely with functional leads across the org.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 10 engineers, growing to 20 in the next 12 months
• Hire and onboard top-tier technical talent; own hiring funnel metrics and process
• Drive project delivery velocity and scale engineering processes
• Collaborate closely with product to shape roadmap and translate outcomes into execution
• Coach engineers and junior EMs; manage performance, promotions, and development cycles
• Review architecture and technical decisions across Go, Python, and TypeScript services
• Champion quality and delivery using metrics like DORA and engagement benchmarks

Requirements

• 8 years total software experience, with 3 years managing teams
• Experience scaling B2B SaaS products on AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong background in shipping 0-1 features and scaling to thousands of users
• Comfortable working across Go, Python, and/or TypeScript
• Excellent communicator with strong judgment on tradeoffs and prioritisation
• Data-informed and outcome-driven with a high bar for quality and delivery

Bonus Points

• Experience in supply chain, fintech, or deep B2B domains
• Exposure to AI-native product orgs or experimentation with AI in production
• Managed managers in previous roles
