Site Work Estimator Job Description

G.A. Peak Excavating, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Work Estimator in the Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Lehigh County areas. The Site Work Estimator must be able to perform various duties throughout the year. The Estimator is expected to use his/her experience to create project estimates and/or help facilitate projects by communicating with the field personnel, senior project management, and ownership. This position will require some travel on various jobsites and locations.

  • Estimating Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform takeoff from paper plans
  • Gather quotes from vendors and subcontractors
  • Create estimate in estimating software
  • Review estimates with management
  • Communicate with existing and new clients and general contractors.
  • Turn projects over to project managers and field personnel
  • Collect and distribute submittal information as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Overhead and budget calculations

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Communicate both effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with our team
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to use or learn earthwork takeoff software (Agtek and Bluebeam experience is a plus)
  • Must be able to use or learn estimating software (B2W experience is a plus)
  • Must be able to use or learn project management software (B2W experience is a plus)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is needed
  • Must be physically able to travel to job site and meeting locations.
  • Must be able to pass all required training.
  • Ability to demonstrate common-sense understanding.
  • Know and comply with all federal, state, local and company regulations, policies, procedures and rules as implemented and as amended from time to time.
  • Education and Experience:
  • REQUIRED - High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • REQUIRED - Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • REQUIRED - Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • REQUIRED - Must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment screening for controlled substances in accordance with DOT regulations.
