Gair, Gair, Conason, Rubinowitz, Bloom, Hershenhorn, Steigman & Mackauf is seeking a meticulous and highly organized Paralegal to work for a Senior Partner. The ideal candidate will provide crucial support to our legal staff and ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the team he oversees. This role involves preparing legal documents, reviewing medical records, keeping track of the team’s calendar and the status of their cases, preparing the attorneys for depositions, court appearances, and trials, and maintaining communications and correspondence with clients, defense firms, and other entities involved in our cases. The Paralegal must exhibit strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys and legal assistants in preparing legal documents for Medical Malpractice and large personal injury cases such as pleadings, bills of particulars, discovery demand responses, infant compromises, and motions.
- Assisting the attorneys in preparing for depositions, including but not limited to, drafting memos of the medical records, expert reports, and other important evidence
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Maintain calendars and schedules for court appearances, depositions, trials, and meetings.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients on behalf of attorneys.
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them as necessary.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, faxing, and filing.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar role in a law firm working on Medical Malpractice cases.
- Experience in reviewing and summarizing medical records.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
