THE OPPORTUNITY
Galvion has an opportunity for a Receiving Coordinator who is responsible for receipt of all incoming materials at our Newport, VT facility.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will be part of a team of professionals committed to enabling business growth.
YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO
- Receiving functions; coordinating incoming shipments, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, system transactions and distributing to sales associates for processing, generate daily Receiving Report (items received, outstanding issues, etc.).
- Process all customer requests and incoming material in an accurate manner, within a 48-hour timeframe, i.e. rejected material processing, support to Quality, cycle count request, sales samples, etc.
- Ensuring material is properly marked with relevant information, including part number, quantity and date received.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined storage procedures, by Warehouse Team Lead, ensuring FIFO of materials.
- Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for employees and customer traffic.
- Opening bales, crates, and other containers.
- Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program and/or completing proper paperwork.
- Perform cycle counts on an as-needed basis.
- Organizing of warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Generate daily reports for incoming shipments and issues with materials.
- Wear the proper safety equipment.
- Operation of forklift in a safe manner.
- Maintain 5S requirements.
- Support Material/Production Teams with overall company objectives in mind.
- Follow Galvion policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Forklift operator license preferred; will provide training.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- six (6) months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be good with numbers and capable of writing legibly.
- Ability to work with minimum of supervision, including prioritizing of work.
- Military experience is a plus.
