What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Hostess position at Galway Bay Restaurant and Pub - Annapolis?
General Responsibilities
Greet every person who walks through the door promptly with a warm friendly welcome and smile.
Seat each guest at an appropriate size table and be sure each filled seat has the appropriate setting of 1 silverware wrap and 1 plate.
Remove extra settings if the seat is not being used and return them to there appropriate place at the server station.
Promptly and politely answer each phone call.
Take carry out orders as needed, ensure all appropriate questions are asked and promptly deliver the order to the bar.
Properly manage reservations for the dining room.
When applicable manage waitlist and properly use pagers.
Appropriately address each situation presented to you by supplying the answer or by directing the customer to a person who can supply the answer.
Recognize and thank every customer as they leave the restaurant.
Qualifications / Job Requirements:
Customer service background or experience working with the public.
Be able to working in a standing position for long periods.
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
Must have exceptional grooming habits and knowledge of the proper etiquette and service standards.
Must be self motivated and able to work without supervision.
Must be able to take direction and be willing to learn.
Must adhere to dress and grooming standards.
