- Equity & Inclusion: By supporting a welcoming and inclusive environment in both career coaching and the Career Closet.
- Critical Thinking: When tailoring a resume and clothing guidance to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities
Career Peer Support
- Serve as a consultant for students seeking help with resumes, cover letters, professional fashion, and student employment preparation.
- Conduct one-on-one professional development sessions with students and input notes in Handshake.
- Collaborate with professional staff for classroom presentations and student organization workshops on behalf of the department.
- Educate students on key career resources (e.g., Handshake, PeopleAdmin, etc).
- Assist students in selecting appropriate professional attire from the Career Closet.
- Maintain an inclusive, equitable, and organized space that reflects the university’s values.
- Collaborate with professional staff to manage inventory and donations: folding, steaming, tagging, restocking, and tracking incoming and outgoing items.
- Write donation thank you notes and send out to donors.
- Support professional staff in brainstorming and creating content ideas for social media and career fair promotions.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality in all student interactions and data handling.
Required Qualifications
- Must be interested and comfortable working in the Career Closet as well as working one-on-one with students on resumes, cover letters and professional development
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Demonstrated campus leadership or involvement
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel; willingness to learn new platforms
- Commitment to confidentiality and respect for sensitive student information
- Creative, proactive mindset with a desire to contribute to team success
- Flexible schedule and willingness to grow with the department across semesters
- Embodiment of Gannon’s mission and values in daily work
- Good academic and conduct records at Gannon
- Demonstrated campus leadership experience
- Ability to work within a team setting and contribute effectively
- Ability to learn and utilize technology platforms that assist in carrying out responsibilities
- Must have a flexible schedule and looking to grow with our office in future semesters
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and be willing to work within a diverse team of individuals
- Demonstrate the desire to grow personally and professional and possess values of living out the Gannon experience
- Past experience writing a resume/cover letter for a class assignment or application
