Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives:
Communication – The student will effectively and professionally solicit information from department members and create engaging posts for intended audiences.
Technology - The student will utilize graphic design tools in the creation of posts and analyze platform analytics to understand user engagement.
The social media assistant will create weekly social media content for the English Department’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, featuring the department’s faculty, students, courses, and events as well as other relevant content. This will include taking photos and videos while being an active member of the departmental community. In addition, the social media assistant will regularly monitor relevant social media conversations and respond and engage as appropriate. They will maintain a social media calendar, analyze platform analytics, and meet weekly with a faculty mentor. This position requires approximately 8 hours of work per week.

Required Qualifications
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with social media forums, including Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram.
- Experience with design and graphic design tools.
- Enrolled full-time student at Gannon University.
- Good academic and conduct standing at the university.
