What are the responsibilities and job description for the BARISTA position at Garces?
The primary function of the barista is to make coffee beverages for guests at the counter and for dining guests in the restaurant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Barista is trained and well-versed in all things coffee, espresso and tea
- Responsible for maintaining a clean coffee station and stocked coffee kiosk throughout every shift
- Baristas will be trained on the floor plan (table and position numbers) and upon receiving and fulfilling all coffee service bar tickets, will deliver those drinks to the guest?s tables
- Responsible for making consistent espresso drinks, and providing proper beverage service at the end of the guest?s meal
- Must have a friendly demeanor when present in the restaurant
- Ability to follow directions and written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while keeping a professional demeanor
- Ability to perform other related tasks designated from the management
- Ability to stand or walk during the entire 8?10-hour shift
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of company's products and procedures
- Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
- Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience barista service preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Experience working in a fast paced, fine dining environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Requires the ability to stand, bend, and lift (up to 25 lbs.) in order to perform normal job function
