SUMMARY of Permanent Substitute Job Description:
The Permanent Substitute Teacher may be required to cover multiple classroom blocks or other assigned variable duties throughout the workday. Responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the duties of teaching as outlined in laws and policies. Responsible for working effectively with a team comprised of paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, parents and District office staff with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each and every student, each and every day, without exception. Assignments will vary.
SUMMARY of School Improvement Coach Job Description:
The School Improvement Coach is a critical lever and new position for Garfield Re-2 School district in the 2023-2024 school year. The role of this coach is to help facilitate the implementation of Classroom Instructional Coaching Teachers in an elementary building. The School Improvement Coach is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. The School Improvement Coach will provide school-wide guidance and structure where needed, focus collaboratively with administration on strengths, collaboration, and common issues of concern in an elementary school building. This position is responsible for working effectively with a team of Instructional Coaching Teachers, the building administrators, and the Elementary Director of Curriculum with the purpose of providing quality educational services for each and every student, each and every day, without exception. Educators awarded this position will receive a $4000.00 stipend, pay for their 5 additional coaching days, and an hourly stipend for extra-time demanded by this leadership position.
