We are seeking a full-time Aviation Programs Engineer/Manager 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting successful conception, development, and/or application of sophisticated avionics systems.
Essential Functions
- Contributes to the creation of technical product proposals and related documentation
- Creates aircraft specific interface documentation and wiring diagrams
- Identifies and documents technical scope of change in support of small changes to already supported functionality or interfaces
- Assesses avionics system compliance with a select set of customer requirements
- Coordinates recurring meetings with customer, documents, and maintains related documentation in an organized manner
- Provides technical and/or program support for OEM customer inquiries, which may include generating coordination memos or other OEM notification, to inform customers of basic technical information
- Assists with creation of status information to inform internal stakeholders of relevant program progress and issues
- Assists in review and creation of program-specific maintenance and pilot documentation
- Maintains program-specific hardware and software configuration details
- Assists with creating and maintaining program schedules, program-specific Statement of Works (SOWs) and may have primary responsibility depending on level of complexity
- Assists in coordination of internal resources to support customer needs for hardware and software deliverables
- Assists in preparation and transmittal of technical documentation required to support aircraft certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated capability to perform basic troubleshooting & debugging
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Pilot’s License
- Garmin Integrated Flight Deck experience
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills in one or more of the following technical areas: Systems Integration, System Safety, System Requirements
