The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive safety and security programs for our corporate office and manufacturing facilities. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies, related to occupational safety, environmental protection, and facility security.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety program, including hazard identification and risk assessment, safety training, incident investigation, and emergency response.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety procedures such as IIPP, Workplace Violence, Indoor Heat Illness, etc.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and recommend preventive measures. In partnership with HR, manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
- Maintain safety records and documentation.
- Lead and mentor safety team and committee members.
Security Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security program, including access control, surveillance systems, emergency response plans, and security protocols.
- In partnership with the Facilities Engineering Manager and/or the IT Department:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Manage relationships with security vendors and contractors.
- Develop and implement security procedures to protect company assets and personnel.
- Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
- Investigate security incidents and breaches.
- In partnership with HR, investigate workplace violence incidents.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders.
Environmental Management:
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal, air emissions, and water discharge.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans.
- Maintain environmental permits and records.
EDUCATION | CERTIFICATIONS | LICENSES | TRAINING

- Bachelor’s in occupational or industrial safety, environmental health or science, security management, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant certifications preferred
KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Experience in developing and implementing safety and security programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS
- This position may interact within all levels of the Garmon Corporation. Additionally, this position may have contact with business partners, customers, vendors, visitors and / or government agencies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., with occasional lifting of heavier loads
- Reaching: Ability to reach overhead and bend to pick items from shelves or pallets
- Pushing/Pulling: Capable of pushing or pulling pallets and carts, including using pallet jacks to move large or heavy items up to 900 lbs.
- Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools
- Climbing: Occasional need to climb ladders or use step stools to access higher shelves
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Warehouse Conditions: Fast-paced environment with fluctuating temperatures, which range from cooler to warmer depending on the warehouse
- Noise Level: Moderate to high noise levels, due to machinery, forklifts, and other equipment
- Equipment: Exposure to heavy machinery including forklifts, pallet jacks, and various warehouse tools
- Safety Gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, and occasionally safety vests or helmets may be required
- Work Area: The work area consists of concrete or hard floors, with designated storage and picking areas
- Environment: The warehouse environment may involve tight spaces, cluttered areas, and high stacking of items, requiring careful maneuvering and attention to safety

This is a full-time onsite position, located in Temecula, CA. 50% travel between office locations within a 2 mile radius.
