Job Summary:

It is the responsibility of this position to be accountable for the financial operations of the Company.  It is the duty to maintain adequate systems of accounting records and to produce accurate and timely financial reports.  The purpose of the position is to ensure comprehensive controls are in place to mitigate risk, provide accurate and timely financial results, and serve both internal and external customers with quality financial information and data processing.  It is the goal of the position to establish the GasTech accounting department as the most highly respected process equipment accounting team in the industries, and for the clients, we serve.


Key Contributions:

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and delegation of duties for the Accounting Administrative Assistant and the Staff Accountant.
  • Manage and perform monthly closing/financial reporting and procedures.
  • Ensure accounts payable are paid promptly.
  • Prompt communication with customers to ensure accounts receivables are collected promptly.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely and ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting.
  • Be the onsite “owner” of ERP/Financial reporting systems, ensuring data and reporting are accurate, timely, relevant, and used by the team.
  • Implement financial reporting systems, controls, and procedures according to GAAP.
  • Share best practices across the accounting, including process improvements, financial modeling, and procedural changes.
  • Ensure monthly bank reconciliations & all balance sheet account reconciliations are performed.
  • Maintain ERP/General ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Issue timely, complete, and accurate financial statements.
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report on significant issues.
  • Provide financial analyses as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and financial capabilities commensurate with this position are required.  
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting in a manufacturing environment is required.  
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required and an MBA and/or CPA is preferred but not required.  
  • Previous experience with monthly closing/financial reporting, a thorough understanding of accounting for long-term contracts/percentage of completion methodology, and a well-rounded understanding of the energy business are strongly preferred but not required.  
  • A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of results-oriented urgency is required.  
  • Strong leadership, team delegation of tasks, departmental planning, and decision-making skills are required.
  • The ability to perform tasks accurately with keen attention to detail is required.
  • The ability to work safely, especially while in our shop area, is required.
  • Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is preferred but not required. 
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Excel/MS Office, and MRP/ERP systems is required.
